If you know me personally, you would know that I love to spend me some money. I can’t help it, I work hard for my money and I like to have nice things to show for it. I will however admit that while my wardrobe is top notch and my cosmetic drawer could make even a Nordstrom employee blush, the bulk of what I own could easily be replaced with something more cost effective without sacrificing quality.
With that being said, does that stop me? Of course not! If you have been curious about that real high end stuff sold in select beauty counters, not that middle of the road *yawn* cosmetics found in line at your local Sephora, then this is the list for you.
These products are the real deal. You may need to consider getting that seasonal job at Hickory Farms to be able to afford this list, but I promise you, they are all worth it.
Why people spend so much money to look exactly the same as each other is beyond me. To me, if I want something simple and basic, I would much rather save my money and later spend it on something unique and special.
I will get the obvious out of the way. Why, myself, a vegan, is targeting Canada Goose even though there are many brands like it is because of the company’s poor ethical standards. If you don’t know, I will get on my vegan high horse for just a second and enlighten. The coveted Canada Goose jacket that everyone has been drooling over for the last couple of years uses fur from wild caught dogs using primitive trapping techniques. These animals can be left to suffer and starve in traps for days at a time. While I don’t consider ANY form of animal based fabric ethical or necessary, I think we can all agree that this is a whole other level of disgusting.
If you are any kind of canine lover, I suggest not looking this up for yourself and just take my word for it.
Now off of my high horse and on to the list. These are just a few coats that will satisfy fashionistas and animal lovers alike.
I’m not one of those vegans that thinks I can bully society into bending into what I think is more ethical and a better fit for my personal lifestyle.
I’m not here to demonize anybody or any certain company. Really, I would love to have all of these brands that aren’t cruelty free to be on the other side of my list in the future. I would not be mentioning these companies and brands if they did not have something to offer to the beauty table.
When that day comes (not holding my breath), I will be the first one singing their praises, front row center with bells on.
